Conor McGregor shares poster for potential Dustin Poirier rematch

McGregor/Poirier (EL, MMA Fighting)Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor face off ahead of their first meeting at UFC 178 on Sept. 27, 2014 in Las Vegas | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Conor McGregor’s rematch with Dustin Poirier is not official yet, but “The Notorious” is already in full marketing mode.

Having already released a poster for a proposed charity bout with Poirier, McGregor’s team is back at it with another poster hyping up an official fight between the two UFC stars now that both men and UFC President Dana White appear to be on the same page.

Talks of a second encounter sprang up in September when McGregor suggested that he and Poirier have an exhibition bout outside of the UFC’s jurisdiction with proceeds going to charity. Shortly after, White told the media that a UFC-sanctioned rematch between the two was in the works and after some resistance from McGregor (he initially demanded that the fight take place before the end of the year), it appears that the former two-division champion has agreed to a Jan. 23 date to fight Poirier again.

McGregor has stated that he wants the fight to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

In the first meeting between the two fighters at UFC 178 in September 2014, McGregor defeated Poirier by first-round TKO in a featherweight contest. Since that time, McGregor has won titles in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions and Poirier became an interim lightweight champion last year.
