Top-10 ranked lightweight Diego Ferreira has been forced out of his upcoming fight against Drew Dober on Nov. 7 in Las Vegas.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the news to MMA Fighting following an initial report from MyMMANews.com.

According to sources, Ferreira suffered an arm injury that will ultimately prevent him from competing on Nov. 7.

UFC officials are expected to seek a replacement to face Dober on the upcoming card.

It’s certainly disappointing news for Dober, who was looking to make a big move in the lightweight rankings with the fight scheduled against Ferreira after he’s rattled off six straight wins including a victory over former champion Anthony Pettis.

As for Dober, he’s gone 6-1 in his past seven performances including three straight knockout wins over Alexander Hernandez, Nasrat Haqparast and Marco Polo Reyes.

The upcoming card on Nov. 7 will be headlined by a highly anticipated light heavyweight showdown between former title contenders as Glover Teixeira takes on Thiago Santos in a five-round fight.
