Hakeem Dawodu’s return to action will have to wait a little bit longer.

A shoulder injury has caused Hakeem Dawodu to drop out of his anticipated clash against Shane Burgos at UFC 257 on Jan. 23.

MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin confirmed a MMA Junkie report.

Dawodu was looking for his sixth straight victory at UFC 257, while Burgos was looking to bounce back from his unanimous decision loss against Josh Emmett at UFC on ESPN 11 this past June.

It’s not clear at this time if Burgos will remain on the pay-per-view card.

A rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will headline the event on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
