Livinha Souza will return to the octagon to battle fellow Brazilian strawweight Amanda Lemos. | Scott Hirano, Invicta FC

Brazilian strawweights Livinha Souza and Amanda Lemos will collide in the octagon on March 6 as both agreed to meet at UFC 259, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting following a report from Combate.

Souza (14-2) defeated Ashley Yoder via decision in her most recent appearance in August before pulling out of a scheduled bout with Kanako Murata in November.

The former Invicta FC 115-pound titleholder kicked off her UFC career in 2018 with a pair of wins over Alex Chambers and Sarah Frota before dropping a decision to Brianna Van Buren.

Lemos (8-1-1), a former bantamweight champion at Brazil’s Jungle Fight, lost a short-notice UFC debut to Leslie Smith in 2017. Suspended two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for stanozolol, Lemos returned in 2019 as a strawweight to defeat Miranda Granger and Mizuki Inoue.

The pay-per-view card will be topped by a trio of championship bouts in a yet-to-be-determined location. Jan Blachowicz looks to defend his light heavyweight throne against 185-pound champion Israel Adesanya, while Megan Anderson and Aljamain Sterling challenge Amanda Nunes and Petr Yan for their respective belts.
