Expect fireworks when Mike Perry faces Daniel Rodriguez in a welterweight fight expected to take place at the upcoming UFC event on April 10.
Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting with agreements in place from both fighters. Fighter Path initially reported the contest.
After teasing interest in a move to middleweight, Perry will stick around at 170 pounds for now as he looks to get back on track following a loss to Tim Means in his most recent appearance. Overall, Perry has gone 1-3 in his past four outings but he’s continued to put on entertaining fights including a memorable battle with Vicente Luque.
Now Perry seeks a return to the win column when he faces off with Rodriguez, who is looking to bounce back following the first loss of his UFC career this past November at UFC 255.
On that night, Rodriguez dropped a decision to Nicolas Dalby, which stopped his three-fight win streak in the UFC including a knockout against Dwight Grant and a submission win over Tim Means.
The upcoming card on April 10 will be headlined by a middleweight fight between former title challenger Darren Till and surging contender Marvin Vettori.
