Joseph R. Biden Jr. was declared president-elect by all major news organizations after a long and contentious period of vote counting that delayed an official call until midday Saturday.
Biden reportedly won the state of Pennsylvania to extend his lead in the electoral college from 253 to 273, putting him over the threshold needed to secure the presidency. He was subsequently declared the winner over President Donald Trump in Nevada, giving him 279 electoral votes to Trump’s 214.
Results from several state elections have yet to be officially certified, but Biden is expected to prevail when the final tallies are given. Here’s what fighters had to say about reported president-elect.
