Several contract winners from this season of Dana White’s Contender Series are set for their octagon debuts.
MMA Fighting recently confirmed that Impa Kasanganay will face Maki Pitolo—which was moved from Aug. 22 to Aug. 29—and light heavyweight Dustin Jacoby will face Justin Ledet in his first UFC fight since January 2012 after punching their tickets on the first two episodes of the fourth season of DWCS.
The fight between Jacoby and Ledet was originally scheduled to take place Oct. 31, but the UFC announced during Tuesday night’s DWCS Season 4: Week 3 broadcast that the bout will now take place Nov. 7.
Three more fighters who earned contracts on this past week all have their debuts set, per the UFC. Adrian Yanez, who earned the fifth fastest stoppage in DWCS history with a 39-second TKO win over Brady Huang, will face Aaron Phillips on Oct. 31. Phillips will look to bounce back from a second-round submission loss to Jack Shore in his promotional debut in July, while Yanez aims to extend his winning streak to five fights.
Middleweight Dustin Stoltzfus earned his contract with a first-round TKO win over Joseph Pyzer and will now face fellow Contender Series alum Kyle Daukaus on Nov. 7. Daukaus will try to pick up his first octagon win after dropping a unanimous decision to Brendan Allen in his June short notice debut.
In addition, Cory McKenna will face Kay Hansen in a battle of 21-year-old strawweight prospects on Nov. 14. “The Hobbit” earned her UFC roster spot after picking up a hard-fought decision win over LFA 115-pound champ Vanessa Demopoulos. Hansen has won four straight, including a third-round submission win over fellow UFC debutante Jinh Yu Frey at June’s UFC on ESPN 12 event.
