Olympic bronze medalist Damian Janikowski faces ex-UFC fighter Pawel Pawlak at KSW 63

Olympic bronze medalist Damian Janikowski seeks his third win in a row when he faces off with UFC veteran Pawel Pawlak at the upcoming KSW 63 card on Sept. 4 in Warsaw, Poland.

KSW officials confirmed the matchup to MMA Fighting on Thursday.

A Greco-Roman wrestler with a bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics and a silver medal in the 2011 World Championships of wrestling, Janikowski (6-3) has spent his entire fighting career with KSW since making the move to MMA in 2017.

While he’s certainly faced some ups and downs along the way, Janikowski is currently riding a two-fight win streak including a TKO win over Jason Radcliffe in his last appearance at KSW 59 back in March.

He’ll look for a third consecutive victory while facing stiffer competition from Pawlak, who steps into the fight with an 18-4-1 record including a 7-1-1 record in his past nine fights.

Pawlak previously competed in the UFC where he amassed a 1-3 record over four fights, which include a win over Sheldon Westcott and a clash with current welterweight contender Leon Edwards. Pawlak will make his KSW debut after recently competing in Babilon MMA.

The upcoming KSW 63 show will be headlined by a welterweight title fight as champion Roberto Soldic takes on Patrick Kincl. Soldic is widely considered one of the top welterweight prospects in the world with an impressive resume that includes a knockout win over current UFC fighter Dricus Du Plessis.
