A pair of rising welterweights will square off on March 6.

Sean Brady faces Jake Matthews at UFC 259, which does not yet have a location or venue. The card will stream on pay-per-view, likely following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.

A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie following an initial report from MMA Fighting.

Brady (13-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), a former Cage Fury FC welterweight champion, is unbeaten in his pro MMA career. Since joining the UFC roster in October 2019, Brady has picked up wins over Court McGee, Ismail Naurdiev, and most recentl,y a “Performance of the Night” submission of Christian Aguilera at UFC on ESPN+ 33 in August.

After suffering back-to-back losses to Kevin Lee and Andrew Holbrook at lightweight, Australia’s Matthews (17-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) moved back up to 170 pounds, where he’s won six of his past seven. He is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, with his last victory a unanimous decision win over Diego Sanchez at UFC 253 in September
