Deiveson Figueiredo put on one of the most dominant championship-winning performances in recent memory at UFC on ESPN+ 30.
Figueiredo rematched Joseph Benavidez in July in his second attempt to capture the vacant UFC flyweight title.
In their first outing at UFC on ESPN+ 27 in February, Figueiredo stopped Benavidez in Round 2, but was not crowned champion due to missing weight.
The two ran things back five months later but, this time, the fight was a one-sided matchup. Figueiredo dropped Benavidez numerous times in the first round and never let his foot off the gas pedal.
Benavidez showed a lot of heart by surviving the early onslaught, but was eventually submitted for the first time in his career at the end of Round 1.
Figueiredo (19-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) returns to action on Nov. 21 when he takes on Alex Perez (24-5 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in the main event of UFC 255, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Before he faces Perez, relive Figueiredo’s finish of Benavidez in the video above.
