Marcin Tybura had to weather an early storm but once he got Walt Harris on the ground, the momentum shifted dramatically in the UFC Vegas 28 co-main event.
After planting Harris on the canvas, Tybura wasted no time shredding his opponent’s defense and then he began blasting away with a series of devastating punches to finish the fight before the end of the opening round. The official stoppage came at 4:06 in the first round as Tybura secured his fifth win in a row overall.
“I really expected that,” Tybura said about Harris’ throwing bombs at him as soon as the fight got underway . “I tried to avoid much more but it’s really hard to knock me out.
“It’s too soon to be in title picture right now but I hope the next fight will get me there.”

Known as a fast starter, Harris came charging out of the gate yet again as he was swinging with knockout power behind every punch while attempting to take Tybura’s head off. While he was aggressive with blitzing combinations, Harris was still smart with his punch selection as he punished Tybura with a number of stiff shots.
Just when it looked like Harris was going to deliver a knockout, Tybura managed to survive the onslaught and secure a takedown. On the ground, Tybura was quick to establish his dominance and then advance his position without a ton of resistance from Harris.
Tybura moved from side control to take the back and then sink in his hooks as he started unleashing a barrage of punches with Harris just stuck on his stomach, covering his head in an attempt to survive.
Once Tybura really began hammering down from the top, Harris was going nowhere and the referee had no choice but to rush into stop the fight before further damage was done.
Always a tough out in the heavyweight division, Tybura is looking more and more like a true contender these days, especially after racking up his fifth straight win with the first-round TKO against Harris at UFC Vegas 28.
