USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings, Dec. 15: Big moves for Juliana Velasquez, Charles Oliveira

A pair of events this past week saw some key movement in the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings.

In a fight between a pair of unbeaten standouts, Juliana Velasquez unseated champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane to ascend to the women’s flyweight throne at Bellator 254. Naturally, that was enough to overtake Macfarlane – but was it enough to put her ahead of UFC champ Valentina Shevchenko?

At UFC 256, the men’s flyweight division stood pat thanks to the majority draw between champ Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Brandon Moreno in the main event. But at lightweight, Charles Oliveira won for the eighth straight time when he dominated former interim champion Tony Ferguson from bell to bell. How far did Oliveira climb at 155 pounds?

Plus, what moves did fighters like Mackenzie Dern, Ciryl Gane and Kevin Holland make with their wins?

Check out the changes in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings in the drop-down menu above.
