Video: Bella Mir puts Alma Cespedes to sleep with rear-naked choke at iKON FF 4

Bella Mir picked up the first finish of her young professional career on Friday night.

The 17-year-old daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir took on Alma Cespedes in her second mixed martial arts bout in the main event of iKON FF 4 in San Carlos, Mexico. Mir made quick work of her opponent, putting Cespedes to sleep with a rear-naked choke just under the two-minute mark of the opening round.

“Lady” earned a hard fought unanimous decision in her MMA debut at October’s iKON FF 2 event over Danielle Wynn. Mir has an extensive wrestling background, including an incredible career at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.

Mir, who trains alongside her legendary father—who was in the corner for both of her pro fights—told MMA Fighting in an October interview that watching the woman who changed everything in the world of mixed martial arts served as further inspiration to go after her dream.

“I officially knew I wanted to do it when I saw Ronda [Rousey] fighting and I saw her dominating in the sport,” Mir explained. “That just kind of motivated me. If I see another girl do it, I have to do it and I want to do it better.”
