Bellator signs Hungarian standout Adam Borics to multifight extension

Adam Borics is still on the Bellator MMA roster – but with a new contract.

Hungary’s Borics (16-1 MMA, 7-1 BMMA), who has been with Bellator since 2017, has re-signed with the promotion, a Bellator official recently informed MMA Junkie.

Borics, 27, has defeated every opponent placed in his path under the Bellator banner but one, the exception being former Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell, who defeated him in the quarterfinals of the Bellator featherweight grand prix.

In seven Bellator victories, Borics has finished five opponents. In 2019, Borics finished rising star Aaron Pico with a flying knee and punches before he defeated former Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran by ground-and-pound months later.

Borics trains at one of the United States’ most well-known MMA gyms, Sanford MMA, under coach Henri Hooft. His training partners include UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, former Bellator lightweight champion and current UFC lightweight Michael Chandler, former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, and current UFC welterweight No. 1 contender Gilbert Burns.

The promotion has not announced Borics’ next fight – or any upcoming fights. Although Bellator’s 2021 schedule has yet to be officially released, promotion president Scott Coker recently revealed to MMA Junkie a February return is likely. According to Coker, the promotion plans on holding 22-26 events in 2021.
