A week ahead of the event, we’ve been handed the opening video package for UFC 254.
UFC president Dana White on Saturday released the promo that will open the pay-per-view portion of the show. “BOOOOM!!!!,” he posted on Instagram. “If this doesn’t fire u up for next week….. NOTHING will.”
In the UFC 254 main event, lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA, 12-0 UFC) takes on interim champ Justin Gaethje (22-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in a title unification bout to close out the UFC’s current five-event run at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2/ESPN+ and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
Narrated as usual by Ron Perlman of “Sons of Anarchy” fame, the video focuses on Nurmagomedov as a relentless and so far unstoppable unbeaten force – and Gaethje as a “berserker” who could be the first to get his hand raised against him.
