BKFC 56: Perry vs. Alvarez took place Dec. 2 at the Maverick Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mike Perry (4-0) faced off against Eddie Alvarez (1-1) in the night’s main event. The fight aired live on FITE.TV pay-per-view.

Round 1

Immediate action to start. Perry is bigger. Alvarez winging shots from the outside as Perry crowds him. Slip sends Alvarez to the canvas but he’s up. Both men swinging. Perry lands to the body nicely.

Alvarez rips a mean left hook but Perry shakes it off. And another. Alvarez has found that left three times now. Four! Perry backing off some as Alvarez keeps tagging him. Alvarez throwing in combination and showing accuract. Pery wearing some damage but he keeps pressing.

Alvarez with the jab landing. Perry looking a little slow and very hittable. They get inside and Alvarez lands a big combo. And a right hand! He’s tagging Perry who eats all the shots and keeps coming forward. Perry swings and uppercut before the bell rings.

Round 2

Terrific first round for Alvarez. Not sure he can keep that pace up, but he tagged Perry a ton. He cut angles well and found his punches. Perry just walked through it all though. His corner tells him he needs more angles. Let’s see if he gets them in round 2.

Perry with the forward pressure immediately. Perry swinging HARD now. He’s sitting down and launching shots. But Alvarez tags him against and there’s blood. Double jab from Alvarez lands but Perry is going big brother.

Big right hurts Alvarez! He’s in retreat, looking for windows! Alvarez biting down and swining back and Perry is brawling with him. Both men just chucking hooks and uppercuts! Clinch and uppercuts from Perry. His size is working to his advantage now! Alvarez is slowing down noticeably.

Alvarez swinging with all he’s got. Perry works the body. Pace slowing down the stretch but Perry keeps coming forward and Alvarez struggling to back him up now.

Great response round by Perry. He just made it a dog fight and he is the bigger dog in there. Alvarez is slowing down and since speed is his biggest weapon, that could be a problem. He needs more answers.

Eddie Alvarez tells his corner he can’t see and his corner immediately stops it! Not sure what happened that Alvarez can’t see but they double checked, he confirmed he can’t see and the corner stopped it. WOW.
