Ninja-like MMA practitioner Joaquin Buckley will make a quick turnaround against Jordan “The Beverly Hills Ninja” Wright at UFC 255.
MMA Fighting confirmed the matchup with multiple people close to the fighters after an initial report from ESPN. UFC 255 is expected to take place Nov. 21 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Buckley left jaws on the floor and likely cemented the “Knockout of the Year” with a spinning back-kick knockout of Impa Kasanganay in the second round of this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Island 5 card in Abu Dhabi. He not only earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus, but his highlight-reel clip was featured on a tweet from Kanye West promoting a new song.
Buckley told What the Heck a fight with James Krause was on his radar, as was a future rematch with Kevin Holland, who knocked him out in his previous fight. But he’ll instead face Wright, who picked up a first-round TKO in his August octagon debut.
Wright is undefeated in 10 professional fights with all of them ending inside regulation time. He also owns a stoppage victory by spinning back-kick just 10 seconds into a 2015 fight on the regional scene.
