The UFC’s March PPV event looks to be adding a fight between surging welterweights.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Sean Brady and Jake Matthews is being targeted for UFC 259. The event takes March 6 with a location and venue still to be announced.

Brady has won all 13 of his professional bouts, including his three octagon appearances. The Philadelphia native made his promotional debut in October 2019 and earned a unanimous decision win over Court McGee at UFC Boston. After beginning 2020 with a decision victory over Ismail Naurdiev, Brady picked up his first stoppage win over Christian Aguilera at UFC Vegas 8 in August.

Matthews will enter his 2021 debut a winner of his last three, and six of seven. “The Celtic Kid” has 2020 victories over Emil Meek and, most recently, Diego Sanchez at UFC 253. The 26-year-old is set to make his 15th walk to the octagon.
