Bobby Green had no problem stepping into enemy territory on Saturday night at UFC 268 and making the most of his moment in a fight against hometown favorite Al Iaquinta.

Displaying lightning quick hands with deadly accuracy, Green was on target from the first punch he unloaded with Iaquinta coming after him in the opening round. The finishing combination was a nasty left jab followed by a straight right behind it that saw Iaquinta’s head get twisted around before he crashed to the canvas.

Green followed him to the ground with a few more strikes before the fight was stopped at 2:25 in the opening round.

“Flawless victory,” Green shouted to the Madison Square Garden audience. “No disrespect to Al, he’s a great guy, but he said he was going to flawless victory me.

“I just want to tell everybody I’m here to impact people, inspire people, motivate people. You can do anything you put your mind to. I’m living proof!.”

With Iaquinta moving forward from the start of the fight, Green was showcasing his hand speed with a series of straight punches that kept tagging the New York native on the chin. Every time Iaquinta tried to throw a shot of his own, he was met by at least one or two straight punches coming directly down the middle from Green.

Thanks to Green’s awkward style of striking where he throws punches from his hips, Iaquinta was struggling to block much of anything as he was just getting eaten alive on the feet.

It was that same series of punches that finished the fight after Iaquinta came forward and Green met him with the left-right combination that put him down and out.

Green has been enjoying quite a career resurgence lately with a very active schedule over the past two years but this is definitely his biggest win to date after taking out a veteran lightweight like Iaquinta with a first-round knockout.
