Ciryl Gane continues to prove that he’s more than just a striker.
The French heavyweight, who has finished five of his six pro wins, is one of the most highly touted prospects in the UFC.
After submitting Raphael Pessoa in his promotional debut in August 2019, Gane drew Contender Series graduate Don’Tale Mayes last October at UFC on ESPN+ 20. In the final round, Gane latched on to a heel hook and submitted him with just 14 seconds remaining in the fight.
Gane (6-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) was scheduled to return Saturday against newcomer Ante Delija (17-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN+ 38, but the fight was canceled because of a contract situation.
You can watch Gane’s finish of Mayes in the video above.
