ABU DHABI – Yorgan De Castro will be one half of the co-main event at UFC on ESPN 16 but he’s not bothered by the spotlight.
In his mind, he performs better under pressure. De Castro (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is coming off his first promotional loss, a defeat to former NFL star Greg Hardy by split decision at UFC 249 in May. After the fight, De Castro reassessed and realized it’s important to have a backup plan.
At a pre-fight news conference Wednesday, De Castro talked about his takeaways from the loss, his UFC on ESPN 16 opponent Carlos Felipe (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and how he sees the fight playing out Saturday.

UFC on ESPN 16 takes place Saturday at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on ESPN and streams on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN+.
