Bellator is set to return to London in the fall and it’s bringing a highly anticipated welterweight rematch.
Promotional officials announced on Tuesday that former champion Douglas Lima will face Michael Page in the main event of Bellator London, which takes place Oct. 1 at The SSE Arena. The pairing will square off for the second time following Lima’s second-round KO win over Page at Bellator 221 in May 2019.
Lima, No. 10 in MMA Fighting’s global rankings, will look to bounce back from losing the welterweight title to Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 260 in June. “The Phenom” is in the middle of the first losing streak of his pro career in over a decade, which includes a decision loss to middleweight champ Gegard Mousasi in his quest to become a two-division champion at Bellator 250 this past October.
Since the loss to Lima, Page was gone 5-0 with four finishes to earn a No. 2 spot in Bellator’s welterweight rankings. In his most recent appearance in May at Bellator 258, “MVP” dominated Derek Anderson en route to a first-round doctor’s stoppage TKO.
